What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian science of health and happiness. The term “Ayurveda” is derived from a Sanskrit word “Aayu” means “ age”and “Veda”means  “ science”.

Conjunctly,  the term Aayurveda is known as the science of long and healthy life.

In the ancient Indian era, the social scientists who were called “Hrishi” had explored various dimensions of secrets of health and happiness. One of their popular inventions is Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is a holistic approach of a healthy, happy and long life. There are several methods of being healthy and happy according to Ayurveda which can be applied by any individual. Ayurveda consists of 3 categories ; Vata (Doshas)’ Pitta, and Kapha. Balancing of these 3 elements in a human being is the foundation of Ayurveda.

Presently, most people are leading a hectic scheduled work, consuming processed foods and breathing polluted air. Due to this, there is an increasing trend of several physical and mental health illnesses. Some of the methods of curing these illness/ doshas are Pancha Karma method, herbal medicines, special diets, meditation, yoga and massage. Ayurveda focuses on a natural way of living for the betterment of  physical, mental and spiritual health of a person.
